Welcome back Melo..........Again.

From the hard streets of New York a star was born and no I am not speaking on behalf of Jay Z. I am talking about the 6-8, 230 pound, 4 time All Star with enough fire power to give any NBA team a headache, Carmelo Anthony. To understand the welcome "back" you would have to go back in time to the beginning. Carmelo Anthony was born in Red Hook, Brooklyn where he lost his father to cancer at only the age of two. When Anthony turned eight he moved to Baltimore where he experienced even more violence. But one thing kept him out of trouble, his love for the game. He went to high school at Towson where he shot up an amazing 5 inches in one summer and was transformed into a 6-5 swingman. But he would move to a place where he could focus in mentally and physically his last year of high school. He attended Oakhill Academy in Virginia where he got known around the country. Then Anthony returned to the place it all began. He decided to go to Syracuse University in New York. Anthony only played a year of college basketball, but boy was it full of achievements. As a freshman Anthony averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds but wait, there's more. Also as a freshman he led his Syracuse team to a 30-5 season record, won Freshman of the Year, and brought home the first championship the school has ever had, oh and did I mention he was a freshman? He proved that he was ready for NBA level basketball. Carmelo Anthony was drafted first round third pick to the Denver Nuggets where he immediately showed his matured skills on the floor. He averaged 25 points and 7 rebounds on the Nuggets and showed he was a leader but he never even got close to that championship level again. But after 7 years (or 6 and a half if you want to get technical) he returned home..........again. After talk about going to the Nets, and the Clippers, Melo decided finally (emphasis on finally) to go to the New York Knicks. In his debut game against the Milwaukee Bucks the Knicks clinched the victory 114 to 108 but lost against the Cavs which is the team hold the worst record in the NBA. So what does this mean? It means Rome wasn't built in a night but the Lakers was sured destroyed by the Cavs in one night (that's another story). But this new team of Amare Stoudemire, young talent Laundry Fields, and New York's very own Carmelo Anthony will definitely show fire power on the East. Will Carmelo be enough to change the Knicks around and be back to the championship level he was once known for? Who knows but the Knicks, New York, and the owner of New York (which in my opinion is Spike Lee) would like to say welcome back Melo........again.
